Charis Circle is bringing these incredible feminist voices to you to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of Charis Books & More. This event will benefit Charis Circle, the nonprofit sister organization of Charis Books, which brings all of Charis’ feminist programming to our community. Charis Circle became a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in 1996 to take over all Charis programming, community education and outreach.
You may not know that only 14, yes 14, feminist bookstores remain in the United States – down from over 120 feminist bookstores in 1994. In the current economy, Charis Circle needs your support more than ever. This celebration is an opportunity to build sustainability for this critical community resource that we all love. You are Charis and your participation in these Charis Circle fundraising events is a statement of feminist activism. Join Gloria Steinem, Beverly Guy-Sheftall, and Alexis Pauline Gumbs to continue building sustainable feminist community in Atlanta for another 35 years (and beyond). Thank you in advance for your generosity.
When you purchase your ticket to this event, you will have the opportunity to help shape the event content. Please tell us what you'd love to hear these incredible feminists talk about, or what questions you'd like to hear them answer (related to feminism and activism). You can purchase tickets online or in person at Charis Books & More (1189 Euclid Ave NE, Atlanta GA 30307, 404-524-0304). There is no additional fee for tickets bought in person. Please note that fees associated with tickets on this website go to eventbrite for ticket sales services, not to Charis. Due to limited seating at this event, we recommend purchasing tickets well in advance. Doors open at 6:30pm, with the event starting at 7:30. Parking for this event is available in the Georgia Tech Hotel's parking deck for about $5-$7. If you miss the window for online ticket sales, don't worry! Tickets are also available at the event.
**Please note that the two-event priority seating ticket package purchased on this website will only print out a ticket to one event. You will be able to re-use this ticket (priority seating two-event package tickets only) for both events. We will have will call available should you misplace your ticket.**
If you would like to purchase a ticket at the group rate but don't have a full group of ten, we encourage you to call the bookstore and see if there is another small group we can add you to. We don't want anyone to miss out! 404-524-0304
*Sign Language interpretation will be provided at this event.*

About Charis Circle and Charis Books & More:
For 35 years Charis Books & More, the oldest and largest feminist bookstore in the South, has played host to legendary programs and events. In 1996, we created a separate non-profit, Charis Circle, to continue and expand our program offerings. Together, Charis Books and Charis Circle create a forum for free thought, independent voices, and unique expression. As a non-profit, Charis Circle is funded mainly through individual giving efforts and foundation gifts. Charis Circle rents space from Charis Books and More to house our office, as well as to hold our programs and provide the only community feminist space in Atlanta that is open to the public 7 days a week. Charis Books & More is a for-profit, independent business that is funded through book sales.
